Our recent perspective paper, The Empty Factory and the Full Farm, explores one of agriculture’s biggest paradoxes: why processors struggle to secure reliable supply while farmers struggle to find reliable buyers. Drawing on Kuza’s field experience, it argues that the missing ingredient isn’t production, it’s trust, fair incentives, and market systems that work for everyone.
